Barn Door “Hello” Card – Stampin’ Up!

Posted by on 8:12 pm in Home, Jenny Peterson, Occasions Mini Catalog, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

Hello!  Yes, I haven’t posted in a while but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been stamping.  Be sure to read the bottom of the post to see what I’ve been up to.

I started with a piece of Basic Black card stock cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ and cut in half.  The polka dot paper is the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and cut into a banner at 2 1/4 x 5 3/8″.  Cut a piece of Crushed Curry card stock at 2 3/4 x 3 3/4″ and adhere to the card front.

Stamp the barn door using Basic Black ink on to a piece of Smoky Slate card stock and cut it out using the Sliding Door Framelit Dies.  Stamp the hello sign using Basic Black ink on to a piece of Whisper White card stock and also cut it out using using the Sliding Door Framelits.  Then stamp the hello sign again but cut out the area the hello is stamped in.  Pop up from the sign using Stampin Dimensionals.  Add a bow to the top of the sign using Crushed Curry Solid Baker’s Twine.  The barn door handle is also cut out from the Sliding Door Framelits Dies.

What have I been up to?  So I have been stamping at least every week but I share them on my Creative Corner page I run with my friend Ronda Wade.  If you’d like to check out what Creative Corner is all about and see what I’ve been creating, you can check it out here:  Creative Corner

Moroccan Nights “Thanks” Card

Posted by on 5:11 pm in Home, Jenny Peterson, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

I use a lot of Thank You cards and wanted to create a card using this layout with the Moroccan Nights stamp set.

The card base is Whisper White card stock layered with another layer of Whisper White card stock.  The medallion is stamped in Delightful Dijon ink on to the card and again in Draper Denim ink on Draper Denim card stock in a 2 x 2″ square.

The strip of the Moroccan Designer Series Paper is cut 1 x 3″ and you can forget a piece of a Delicate White Doily tucked in there too.  The “thanks” is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set stamped in Draper Denim ink on to a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock cut 1/2 x 2 3/4″.  Be sure to sponge the thanks banner with Delightful Dijon ink using a Stamping Sponge.  I thread a Classy Designer Button using a long piece of Linen Thread wrapped a few times with a few Glue Dots holding it in place.

Mixed Drink “Congrats” Card – Stampin’ Up!

Posted by on 8:46 pm in Home, Jenny Peterson, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

I created this card for my downline member who earned the 2017 Incentive Trip to Thailand with Stampin’ Up!  I know how much consistent hard work and dedication it takes to earn this trip and I’m super happy for her!  Congrats Dawn!

I was really excited how this card turned out once I was finished.  I played around with it for a while until it finally took the turn I wanted to see it go.  I had a fun time using the Mixed Drink stamp set.  There are so many different options on “making a drink” with this stamp set and it was fun to play with.

The colors I used were Bermuda Bay, Delightful Dijon, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.  The strip of polka dot paper is from the Serene Series Designer Series Paper Stack, it’s such a great paper stack!  The twine is the Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine and the silver piece is the Silver Sequin Trim which is always a great touch to a project.  Of course there is a little piece of the Delicate White Doily, I always seem to like a card better when I add a little bit of a doily.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do, it makes me think of summer time as I’m watching the snow come down here in Michigan.

Have a great week!

Acorny Thank You “Thankful” Card with Stitched Shapes Framelits – Stampin’ Up!

Posted by on 11:14 am in Jenny Peterson, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

This is the time of year we remember to take the extra time to be thankful.  It is also when we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the United States and send special Thanksgiving cards to our loved ones who we can’t celebrate this holiday with.  This is one of the cards I will be sending out this week.

The base and top layer of this card is Very Vanilla card stock.  The top layer has been ran through the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder using the Big Shot Machine.  I cut a piece of Mint Macaron card stock to 1 3/8 x 3 1/4″.  The piece of the 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon is 7 3/4″ long and folded in half over the piece of Mint Macaron card stock.  The top layer of Very Vanilla, Mint Macaron and the burlap ribbon are all stapled together.  I used the NEW Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut the Early Espresso circle and adhered it to the card using Stampin Dimesionals.  If you look closely, you’ll see the stitching all around the circle.

The base of the acorn from the Acorny Thank You stamp set is stamped using Mint Macaron ink and the top in Delightful Dijon ink.  They are both sponged slightly using Crumb Cake ink using a Stamping Sponge.  The top of the acorn is adhered to the acorn using Stampin Dimenionals and then the completed acorn also adhered to the circle using Stampin Dimensionals.  Stamp the thankful banner using Crumb Cake ink and adhere to the acorn using Snail Adhesive.  I added two small Pearl Basic Jewels to finish off the card.  Adhere the top Very Vanilla layer to the base of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Thoughtful Branches Bundle Promotion

Posted by on 11:44 am in Cards, Home, Jenny Peterson, Kits, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

During the month of August, you can order this cute limited time bundle, Thoughtful Branches.  I created this card using the bundle and had so much fun creating with it.  Be sure to check out the details of this bundle below!

  • I created this card using the ink colors of Soft Suede (126978), Pumpkin Pie (126945), Daffodil Delight (126944), Old Olive (126953) along with a Basic Black Marker from the Neutrals Stampin Write Marker Collection (131261).
  • The card stock colors used are Soft Suede (115318), Daffodil Delight (119683), Whisper White (100730), Real Red (102482), and Pumpkin Pie (105117), and Old Olive (100702).
  • The layers of this card are the following sizes:
    • Soft Suede base:  4 1/4 x 11″
    • Daffodil Delight:  3 3/4 x 5″
    • Whisper White: 3 1/2 x 4 3/4″
  • The banner measures 7/8 x 1 7/8″
  • The stamps and framelits are part of the limited time bundle, Thoughtful Branches (144328).  Which includes the Thoughtful Branches stamp set (143539) and the Beautiful Branches Thinlits Dies (143538).
  • The heart is from the Confetti Hearts Border Punch (137415).
  • Don’t forget our cute Handheld Stapler ( 139038) too!

TIP:  I stamped the leaves in Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight before adding the Old Olive cut out leaves.  I tried staggering them as the leaf thinlit matches up perfectly.  So test it on scrap before you add it to your final card.

I’m also excited to give this card to my husband as on the tree trunk I added our initials to it…look close 🙂

Here’s a view of the Thoughtful Branches Bundle (144328) you can get only through August 31st!  Get it while you can!

Here are some other project ideas using this cute set!

Thank You Card – Stampin’ Up!

Posted by on 4:49 pm in Cards, Home, Jenny Peterson, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

I use a lot of thank you cards, so when I’m ready to create I first find the thank you greeting I want to use.  This one comes from the new Beautiful Banners stamp set and I paired it with some oldies and new items as well.

The base of the card is Very Vanilla card stock (101650) along with a 3 1/2 x 4 3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock adhered on top, but first I stamped the sunburst image from the Kinda Electic stamp set (135350) in Early Espresso ink (126974).  I cut a 8″ piece of the new 5/8″ piece of Burlap Ribbon (141487) and folded it in half.  I adhered it to the card using Snail adhesive.

I punched a circle from a piece of Dapper Denim card stock (141414) using the 2″ Circle Punch (133782) and adhered it to the card using Stampin Dimensioanls (104430).  I used the Decorative Label punch (120907) to punch the label in Emerald Envy card stock (141415).  I place two pieces of the new Moroccan Designer Washi Tape (141647) on to the Emerald Envy label.  I cut a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock (138338) to 1/2 x 2 1/2″.  Using Early Espresso ink, I stamped the greeting from the Beautiful Banners stamp set (141984) on to the Delightful Dijon strip.  I stapled it twice to the Emerald Envy label using the Handheld Stapler (139083).  Adhere the finished label to the circle using adhesive.

I hope you are enjoying the new Annual Catalog!  I know I am having fun trying out new items as it’s always refreshing!

Made with Love Card – Stampin’ Up!

Posted by on 12:23 pm in Baby, Cards, Jenny Peterson, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

I created this card for my dear friends who are expecting in November.  I sent them this card while finding some adorable baby items…who can’t resist shopping for a baby?!?!

This card started with a 4 1/4 x 11″ piece of Smoky Slate card stock (131202) folding in half for the base of the card.  On the bottom right corner I stamped “congratulations” from the Made with Love stamp set (138662) in Smoky Slate ink (131179).  I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock (100730) to be 3 1/2 x 4 3/4″ for the top layer.  I stamped the water image from the Perpetual Birthday stamp set (137167) in Mint Macaron ink (138326).

The onesie from the Made with Love stamp set is stamped in Delightful Dijon ink (138327) and cut out using the coordinating Baby’s First Framelits Dies (133735).  Position the onesie (without adhesive) where you want it and stamp the hanger in Smoky Slate ink so it looks like the hanger is hanging the onesie.  Add some Silver Metallic Thread (138402) to the card, the Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430) from the onesie will help keep it in place).  Adhere the onesie with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Punch a heart using Smoky Slate card stock and the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (133787), sponge the heart using Smoky Slate ink and a Stamping Sponge (141337) and adhere to onesie using adhesive.

I hope this gives you some inspiration to make your own welcome baby card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Number of Years Bundle – Stampin’ Up!

Posted by on 3:34 pm in Cards, Family, Jenny Peterson, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan | 0 comments

Both of my kids have birthday’s coming up very soon…actually, Alec’s is on Tuesday and he will be turning double digits!!  He’s super excited about this!  Lauren’s birthday is May 1st and she will be a TEENAGER!  Yes…I’m nervously excited for her…and me!  These years have gone so fast but I’m looking forward to seeing the young adults they are becoming!

This is the birthday card I will be giving Alec.  It suits him well as it is also the Detroit Tigers team colors and their opening day of baseball is falling on his birthday!  He will also be starting baseball next week…I think I’m more excited than him…my favorite sport!  I love using this Number of Years bundle (140811) from the Occasions Catalog and I hope you do too!

I started with a piece of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ Night of Navy card stock (100867), fold in half and set aside.  Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock (100730) to 3 3/4 x 5″. Using the Perpetual Birthday stamp set (137167), stamp the watercolor image using Smoky Slate ink (131179) in the center of the Whisper White piece.  Using the same stamp set, stamp the stars using Pumpkin Pie ink (126945) three times on the card.

Using the Numbers of Years stamp set (140653), stamp the “1” and “0” in Night of Navy ink (126970) on to Night of Navy card stock and cut out using the Large Numbers Framelit Dies (140622) and the Big Shot (113439).  To get the placement of the “th”, lay the 10 on to the card and then stamp the “th” from the Number of Years stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink (132708).  Stamp the Happy and Birthday on to Smoky Slate card stock (131202) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cut out and into a banner.  Sponge around the edges of the banners using Smoky Slate ink (131179) using a Stamping Sponge (141337).  Curl banners uisng a Bone Folder (102300) and adhere to card using adhesive.  Adhere the “10” to the card front using half of Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).

Since I loved the way this card turned out…I also created the same card for Lauren’s birthday card just using different colors.  Enjoy!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
